Seal, Tea Jar; Carver, Maeda. This was Jacoulet's first attempt at placing a traditional Japanese subject done in Western perspective into one of his floating negative spaces. The pastel blue-green background atmosphere surrounds the entire figure. The silver mica of the red lacquer mirror is printed over a lavendar shadow of the Geisha's shoulder.
