Heloisa Alves de Oliveira

Heloisa Alves de Oliveira creates her remarkably surreal photographs through composite and other techniques to produce dreamlike images. Brazilian born Heloisa lived away from her native land for 16 years. She had a successful career in the fashion industry for over ten years and lived in Europe, Asia and the United States. In London she did an internship with the photographer and rector of the Royal College of art, John Hedgecoe. She also worked with well-known photographers David Bailey, and Horst and Terence Donovan, who were a source of inspiration in her photography. Back in London she began working as a fashion photographer as well as a stylist. Her research took her to Bali, Japan and Australia where she did her ethnical studies on dance and culture.
