Meiji Period (1868-1912) Japanese lacquer box with chrysanthemum design. Chrysanthemums in a garden setting is a favorite Japanese design. The edge of the top and bottom are finished in silver. The interior and bottom are done with a nashiji (pear skin design) finish.
