Although there is a signature written in red lacquer on the bottom of this seal form netsuke, the signature is not the name of the artist --perhaps an owner. It is carved of kokutan, ebony. The soft form of the netsuke is a testimonial to the love that many owners have had by handling for many years. It is an 18-19th c piece.
