19th century mottled nephrite jade carving of a bi. This bi is a decorative object. It is in imitation of archaic bis of the Zhou and Han Dynasties in form, but not in detail. There has been no attempt to copy the ancient forms. This is a beautiful piece of mottled nephrite, rather thin - about 1/8 inch - and highly polished.
