Pair of 18th century Tibetan gilt bronze finials. These beautiful finials would have been attached at the end of the supports of a palanquin. The finials themselves have a ring from which a leather strap could be placed across the shoulders of the person carrying the palanquin.
The design motif is very much in the Sino-Tibetan tradition of a writhing dragon, its body winding through a background of floral forms.
Size: 3.75 inches high, 1.5 inch diameter.
