Japanese wood netsuke carved in the form of an immortal holding an enormous gourd upside down. On the bottom of the gourd, which is cut right across, a seal has been carved with a character inside. It is beautifully carved, and quite a witty little piece expressing the wonderful humor of the Japanese. Unsigned.
