19th century agate snuff bottle with fish and bat. This snuff bottle is a very well hollowed agate with the relief carving of a dragon fish on one side and a bat on the other. It is a lovely swirling design of the bat and fish. The body of the bottle is a lustrous caramel color. The fish and the bat are carved from the remains of the outer bark of the stone, so that there is a high relief characteristic to the carving. The top is a greenish jasper with an ivory spoon.
