Pre-Columbian Olmec ceremonial axe blade made of Central American jadeite. This jade rectangle was originally created to be a double sided axe head, and certainly for ceremony only. At some point holes were drilled so that it could be used as a pendant. Exquisitely carved with two opposing faces on the front and completely smooth on the back.
